SSC CHSL is one of the important exam conducted by SSC on all India basis. That means anyone who fulfils the eligibility criteria of SSC CHSL can give this exam. SSC conduct CHSL annually. It is among one of those exams which every student can take after completing 10+2 and attaining the age of 18. In other words, we can say it is the first C grade job which one can get immediately after doing 12th. We are not talking about NDA and NA exam which needs further training of 4 years after getting selected. 
Every year nearly 4-5 million aspirants fill SSC CHSL exam, making it the most attended exam in terms of the number of aspirants. But the number of vacancies is less than 0.1% of the total number of aspirants appeared in it. That means less than 1 person is selected per 1000 number of candidates who appears in the exam. But don't get disheartened with these stats because if you have done hard work than no one can stop you to get selected.

How to Prepare for SSC CHSL 

This is the question which everyone wants to be answered. But the answer can't be given as casually as the question asked. First of all, you have to know your strengths and weaknesses regarding this exam. Ask yourself, Is I am capable of competing with others on all India basis, or I need further improvement to stand in the competition line. Filling a Form and Competing in the exam are two different things. "Rome can't be built in a Day", Remember this phrase. SSC CHSL needs a continuous hard work of 1 to 2 years. But still, if you consider yourselves to be super intelligent, which can be possible then go with last year question papers thoroughly. They give you the idea of types of question asked in the exam. Specifically, choose SSC CHSL Mock Tests which are available on the internet. Give at least 3 hours to Mathematics, 1 hour to English, 1 hour to Reasoning and 30 Mins to General Studies on daily basis.

In CHSL you don't need to do all topics of Maths, English, Reasoning and G.Studies. All you need to do is make a plan. Take a look at previous year Question Papers. Examine, which topic is more important than other.

Buy a book which covers the topics of Geography, History, Economics, Politics, Science and General Knowledge. In this paper, you can score good marks which increases your chances to be selected.


There are various books available in the market which covers all the Verbal and Non-Verbal topics of Reasoning. You can opt any one of them. Reasoning in SSC is not a Herculean Task. One can easily score 45+ marks in Reasoning if he or she goes through the syllabus at least once. All you need to do is give some time to this paper.
